How to Get Rid of Cellulite on Legs
You might be surprised to learn that cellulite (commonly referred to as orange peel skin) really isn’t what you think it is.
Cellulite is not a particular kind of body substance or unique collection of fat cells. It’s not even a weight loss issue as both thin and large women experience cellulite in the same way.
Cellulite is a word which just happens to describe those annoying lumpy, bumpy, dimply bits you get on your legs, hips or buttocks at certain times throughout your life.
And whilst it’s true that some women suffer from cellulite more than others, it’s still very much one of the biggest problem areas women face with their body.
But you don’t have to put up with it – - not once you understand the truth about cellulite.
So what is the truth and how do you get rid of cellulite on your legs, for good?
Truth 1: There’s not a lotion, cream or ointment in this world which will help you. Getting rid of cellulite is not as simple as rubbing some overly priced skin lotion or toning cream onto your cellulite stricken legs.
It doesn’t matter how many so-called ‘cellulite reduction creams’ there are on the market – - it’s simply not possible for these products to relieve you of your cellulite woes.
You see cellulite isn’t a skin issue. It’s a fat distribution and connective tissue problem which can only be tackled by firming the muscles directly underneath your trouble zones.
Truth 2: You know all those expensive spa treatments promising you the world? Well they don’t work either. Spa treatments such as endermologie and body wrapping have been proven to be ineffective when it comes to cellulite reduction.
Sure after a few sessions of such treatments you will think your cellulite has gone, but it’s only a temporary fix. What in fact happens is that treatments like endermologie simply redistribute fat to other areas of the body.
In fact the only thing such treatments will reduce is the number of dollar bills in your purse. Think about it – - those spas make their money from your repeat business. They want you to keep returning out of frustration and desperation because if they ‘cure’ you permanently then they’ve lost a customer.
Also, they’re really not the most comfortable or pleasant procedures to have to go through. There are better ways to achieve long term cellulite free legs.
Truth 3: Cellulite itself is not a genetic issue. Remember cellulite isn’t even a condition; it’s a term which relates to how body fat is redistributed. Therefore you’re not ‘stuck’ with the lumps, bumps and dimples forever. These are myths created by ‘know it all’s’ who really don’t have a clue.
Don’t buy into that sort of negative talk. Just because you haven’t yet found a way to get rid of cellulite doesn’t mean you’re doomed to have it for the rest of your life. There really is hope.
Truth 4: Regardless of your age, or when you first realised you had it, you CAN get rid of cellulite. So whether you started to notice cellulite in your teens, or after pregnancy or even after menopause – - all is certainly not lost.
Truth 5: The only real way to get rid of cellulite for good is by following a targeted series of exercises specifically aimed at cellulite reduction.
The thing is though, you’re not likely to learn about these exercises at your local gym or health club. Many trainers out there are unaware of the types of exercises required to get rid of cellulite. They end up offering the usual weight and machine based workouts as a matter of course. Such workouts are far too general and don’t do any real good when it comes to tackling your cellulite problem. You need the big guns.
I’m not sure if you’re aware but as a woman, your lower body has something in the region of 90 different muscles. 90! So unless you’re working with a trainer who knows his or her stuff when it comes to laser targeting the precise muscles for optimal cellulite reduction, then you’re missing a trick.
Fortunately there are exercises you can do which will hit the spot when it comes to your cellulite problems.
And the great thing is that they are really simple movements you can do in the privacy and comfort of your own home. You could even get started with the exercises today. Just imagine, you could have those cellulite free legs in 2 to 4 weeks from now!
